The closest trekking route starts 10 hours
drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche. Both Langtang and Gosainkunda
trekking route has covered by Langtang National Park. It is the
less visited by the tourists making a trek here somewhat more of
an adventure. Here there is a series of north-south running
valleys that provide a variety of possible trekking routes. At
the head of these valleys is a ridge that separates Helambu from
the east west running Langtang Valley. Here the high alpine
scenery, with mountains visible from their base to their peaks.
Add to this rhododendron forests, native flora and fauna,
magnificent mountains, forest, animal, birds, lakes and
monasteries all go to make this region a spectacular
destination. Another destination in this area, Gosainkund is the
sacred lakes, one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations
for Hindu devotees. |
