Trekking in Annapurna
Region |
Annapurna region covers of 7,629 square
Kilometers. Beginning from 790 meters, the area’s highest
altitude reaches 8091 meters mountain Annapurna I. This is the
most visited trekking area in the mountain region. More than
60000 visitors trek or simply visit the area every year.
This is the area where you will see many examples of successful
Eco-tourism. Ghorepani is the best viewpoint in this area. From
where you can sight a panoramic view of Annapurna ranges to the
north. Equally eye-catching will be the jungle on this hill as
rhododendron blossom during spring every year.
On the way this trek innumerable sights of waterfalls,
mountains, natural flowers, and rural settlements mesmerizes
you.
Apart from the natural sites, the area is equally rich with
flora and fauna. There are above 1200 plants with around 40
orchids and none species of rhododendron. There are around 100
mammals, 478 species of birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians in
the area.
The upper sub-alpine steppe environment harbors some of the rare
show leopards and blue sheep. Other areas of the region have
protected bird species such multi-colored Impheyan, Koklas,
blood pheasants. |
