After an hour drive from Pokhara the trek
starts from Naya Pul and follows the old Tibet and India trade
route to spectacular view point Ghorepani. Ghorepani means
(horse water), and it is not doubt a welcome watering stop for
the teams of horse. Mules and ponies carry loads between Pokhara
and Jomsom. The ponies also grind the trail in to dust and
slippery mud with their tiny, sharp hooves and careen downhill.
Frightening with trekkers in to jumping in to the bushes, but
the colorful photo graphics possibilities and the harmonious
tinkle of bells almost make it worth the trouble. Between
Tatopani and Lete Khola the scenery changes dramatically. Pine
forests crowed in the trail and the villages take on a quite
different appearance. We head to Dhaulagiri Ice fall after
Larjung and make one over night camp in between the village. |
