Imja Tse (Island Peak) 6160 meter Khumbu Himal

Imja Tse peak 6160 m. is more popularly known by the name of Island Peak. The peak was first ascended in 1953 by a British team as preparation for climbing Everest. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa (first Everest summiteers) was one of the members who successfully ascended it. The peak is part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar and the main land forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of the summits of Nuptse, Lhotse, Middle Peak and Lhotse Shar. Cho Polu and Makalu lie to the east and Baruntse, Amphu and Ama Dablam lie to the south of the Island Peak.

Itinerary

Days 01 : Pick up from Airport and Hotel check in

Days 02 : Kathmandu city Sight seeing tour

Days 03 : Free for Preparation

Days 04 : Fly Kathmandu/Lukla. Commence trek to Phakding (2652m) about 3 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 05 : Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3446m) about 7 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 06 : Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Days 07 : Trek from Namche to Tyangboche (3867m) about 6 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 08 : Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4410m) about 5 hour’s walk. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 09 : Dingboche to Chukung at 4800 m. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 10 : Rest day in Chukung or Can make rest in Dinboche

Days 11 : Chukung to Island Peak Base Camp 5400 m. and Overnight at tented Camp.

Days 12 : Climb to Top 6183 m. m. and back to Base Camp

Days 13 : Trek to Island Peak Base Camp to Dingboche. Overnight at Lodge

Days 14 : Trek to Tengboche. Overnight at Lodge

Days 15 : Trek to Kumjung or Namche. Overnight at Lodge

Days 16 : Trek to phakding. Overnight at Lodge.

Days 17 : Trek to Lukla. Overnight at Lodge

Days 18 : Fly back to Kathmandu and leisure day.

Days 19 : Airport drop/ Departure
